Sheng Yan has extraordinary aspirations and determination. For 30 years, I have persistently used a small knife to carve on a mirror and created a new type of painting - "Chinese Mirror Light Sculpture Painting". I explore the endless artistic realm of mirror painting, where characters, animals, landscapes... leap one by one onto the mirror.

On December 28, 2020, at the celebration site of the 2020 Winter Photography Event of Beijing Chuanshi Ink International, the mirror painting "Sweat" was hammered for 425500 yuan.

The work "Squatting" was hammered for 333500 yuan.

On November 11, 2023, at the Golden Autumn Prosperity Auction, the mirror artwork "The Old Lion King" was sold for 236000 yuan and "The Little Dog is Good" for 198000 yuan. After multiple rounds of intense competition, the final deal was won.

Sheng Yan spent 30 years studying sculpture and painting through glass mirrors, creating lifelike animals, realistic figures, and dazzling landscapes. He named it the Chinese Mirror Light Sculpture Painting.

In 2008, he applied for an invention patent for "mirror light carving painting".
