Mo Shaoying

President of the Hong Kong Hard Pen Calligraphy and Painting Association

President of the Hong Kong International Arts and Literature Promotion Association

Born in Hong Kong with ancestral roots in Panyu, Guangdong, he is a national first-class artist specializing in calligraphy, painting, art education, and international cultural exchange. From a young age, he studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, apprenticing under the Lingnan School of Painting and mentors including Leiming, Hu Yujun, Chen Mianliang, and Mo Deguang. Mastering the brushwork techniques of the Lingnan School while also studying calligraphy from various dynasties, he has achieved excellence in landscape, flower-and-bird painting, and calligraphy, developing a uniquely personal style in traditional artistic creation.

He holds prominent positions in various art organizations both in Hong Kong and overseas, including Vice President of the Hong Kong Professional Painters Association and Honorary President of the Macau Calligraphy and Painting Arts Association, making him a highly influential veteran artist in Hong Kong. As a full-time calligraphy and painting instructor at the Elderly College of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, he has dedicated years to cultivating aesthetic education, imparting knowledge, and nurturing a large number of calligraphy and painting enthusiasts.

He has held solo exhibitions at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong and in Seoul, South Korea, frequently participated in major group exhibitions in mainland China and various countries, and won the Asia Art Award and the International Painting Grand Prize, receiving consecutive honors

Hong Kong Outstanding Figures Awards for 2024 and 2025. His works are widely collected by art museums, institutions, and collectors both domestically and internationally, frequently appearing in art auctions. Having dedicated years to art-related public welfare and cultural exchanges between China and other countries, he has consistently promoted Chinese calligraphy and painting, fostering cultural and artistic interactions among Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau, and the international community.
