Tan Junxun
Director of the Hong Kong Hard Pen Painting and Calligraphy Association and Director of the Hong Kong Haitao Color Ink Association
Born in Hong Kong in 1960, with ancestral roots in Kaiping, Guangdong. I have loved traditional Chinese art since childhood and was one of the first students of the Hong Kong Cantonese Opera Academy,
Later, he studied under the renowned Peking Opera master Li Shaohua to study Northern style Peking Opera. I have studied a five-year Chinese medicine course at the Chinese Medicine College of the Kowloon Chinese Medicine Association. Later, I had the opportunity to follow Professor Ma Qianli in copying and writing the Heart Sutra, and received careful guidance from my mentor, which improved my calligraphy skills. I firmly believe in Buddhism and my works mainly focus on Buddhist scriptures.
I have been studying traditional Chinese painting under the guidance of Professor Li Bixia for many years, initially learning landscape painting and later specializing in Buddha statue painting. Over the years, I have participated in numerous exhibitions of calligraphy and painting both domestically and internationally, and my works have won numerous honors such as gold and silver awards and excellent work awards in calligraphy and painting competitions. My calligraphy and painting skills are widely recognized within the industry.
