Chen Zhongshi (August 3, 1942 [17-18] - April 29, 2016) was born in Xijiang Village, Baling Township, Baqiao District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. He is a contemporary Chinese writer.
From 1959 to 1962, I studied at Xi'an 34th Middle School. In 1965, he began publishing his works. From November 1968 to July 1978, he served as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Revolutionary Committee of Maoxi Commune in the suburbs of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. In 1973, he published a short story titled 'After Taking Over'. In 1979, he joined the Chinese Writers Association. In 1985, completed the novella 'Mr. Blue Robe'; In the same year, he published a collection of works called "Chen Zhongshi's Selected Works". From July 1985 to April 1993, served as the Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Writers' Association. In 1986, he completed the novella "Four Sisters". In 1991, he published a collection of short stories titled "Going Behind the Old Poplar Tree". In 1993, the novel "White Deer Plain" was published. From April 1993 to December 1996, served as the Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Writers' Association. In 1997, he won the Mao Dun Literature Award for his work "White Deer Plain". Since 2001, he has served as the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association. In 2007, he published a short story called "Li Shisan Pushing the Mill"; In the same year, "Li Thirteen Pushes the Mill" won the 2007 Maotai Cup People's Literature Award. In 2015, a collection of short stories titled "Chronicles of the White Deer Plain" was published. On April 29, 2016, he passed away in Xi'an due to illness.
