Li Ziyi, formerly known as Baoshan, is a renowned contemporary mural artist and representative of the Gongbi style. He is currently a member of the International Federation of Literature and Arts and a national first-class artist. In his early years, he studied Chinese painting with Li Fuxing, a disciple of Sun Qifeng and Yin Shoushi. Later, he followed his mentor to copy murals at the Fahai Temple in Beijing, and thus developed a strong interest in mural research and creation. In 1998, he chose to enter the Art School of Harbin Normal University for further studies and was fortunate enough to learn Gongbi freehand brushwork from Lu Yushun and Gong Jianhua. After graduation, he met Hou Yimin, a leading mural figure at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, and under the careful guidance of Hou, he embarked on a journey to China.
