Jin Shangyi, born in December 1934 in Jiaozuo, Henan, is a member of the Communist Party of China and a contemporary Chinese oil painting artist and educator. Her main works include "Tajik Bride", "Young Female Singer", "Huang Binhong in her later years", and "Ba Da Shan Ren".
Jin Shangyi was admitted to the Painting Department of Beiping National Art College in 1949; In 1959, he created a subscription to the Chinese Revolution Museum titled 'Farewell'; In 1961, he created a subscription to the Chinese Revolution Museum titled 'December Conference'; In 1962, he was transferred to the First Studio of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Wu Zuoren Studio) as a teacher, and his work "Dai Girl" participated in the Beijing Oil Painting Exhibition; In 1980, the work "Exploration" won the second prize for excellent work at the Beijing Oil Painting Exhibition; In 1983, he created works such as "The Song of Nature", "Tajik Bride", and "Double Body". "Tajik Bride" and "Lu Xun" were exhibited at the "Central Academy of Fine Arts Teacher Works Exhibition" and were collected by the Chinese Art Museum. In 1955, he participated in Maximov's oil painting training course at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and mastered the basic laws of shape and color.
In 1957, he graduated from an oil painting training class and exhibited his graduation work "Climbing Mount Mustag" at the "Graduate Works Exhibition of the Central Academy of Fine Arts". He also stayed at the school to teach in the Printmaking Department.
In 1959, he created a subscription to the Chinese Revolution Museum titled 'Farewell'.
In 1960, he created the oil painting "Our Friendship Across the World" (in collaboration with Wu Biduan) and exhibited it at the "Second National Art Exhibition"; In the same year, he painted a batch of small-scale landscape sketches and peasant sketch portraits such as "Shaanbei Caves".

In 1969, he created the work "Mao Zedong at the Steel Mill".
In 1972, he collaborated with Hou Yimin, Zhan Jianjun, Luo Gongliu, and others to create the theme painting "Chairman Mao Meets the Red Guards".
In 1976, he created a commissioned painting by the Military Museum titled "Mao Zedong at the December Conference", as well as other works such as "Young Women" and "Youth in Northern Shaanxi".
In 1977, he created works such as "Scenery of Beiguo" and "Spring on Rivers and Earth" and participated in the "National Commemorative Art Exhibition". Among them, "Scenery of Beiguo" was collected by the Museum of Chinese Revolutionary History.
In 1978, he served as the Deputy Director of the Oil Painting Department and the Head of the First Studio at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
In 1979, he created works such as "Tibetan Girl", "Girl with Braids", and "Violin Player"; In the same year, the paper "Steps and Methods of Sketching Practice" was published in "Art Research"; He also created works such as "Dancer", "Returned Overseas Chinese", and "Picking up Jade Bracelets".
In 1980, he created works such as "Exploration", "Thinking", and "Sculptor Zhang Runkai". His works "Youth", "Sculptor Zhang Runkai", and "Thinking" were exhibited at the "Third Oil Painting Research Exhibition", among which "Thinking" and "Youth" were collected by the Chinese Art Museum.
In 1981, the work "Painter Huang Yongyu" was exhibited at a thematic art exhibition held by Guangming Daily; He also created works such as "Uyghur Elderly", "Uyghur Female Doctor", "Pamir Girl", "Tajik Girl", and landscape paintings such as "Pasture" and "River Valley"; Also created the work "American Youth" in the United States.
In 1982, he created his work "Memories" and exhibited it at the Connecticut Art Exhibition in the United States; Also created the work "Lu Xun".
In 1983, he created works such as "Songs of Nature", "Tajik Bride", and "Twin Bodies"; The works "Tajik Bride" and "Lu Xun" were exhibited at the "Central Academy of Fine Arts Teacher Works Exhibition" and were collected by the Chinese Art Museum; In the same year, he served as the Vice Dean of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
In 1984, he created works such as "Qu Qiubai", "Young Singer", "Girl in Blue", and "Jingjing"; Qu Qiubai participated in the 6th National Art Exhibition and was collected by the China Art Museum; "Young Singer" and "Ning Jing" were exhibited at the "Central Academy of Fine Arts Teacher Works Exhibition"; Tajik Bride and Blue Clothed Girl participated in the "Modern Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition" in Nagoya, Japan.
